JOB Civil Engineering Project Manager

LOCATION Charlotte, NC OR Raleigh, NC

TERM Permanent

SALARY $120,000 per annum.

My client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead and oversee land development projects across a wide range of sectors, including retail, restaurant, multi-family, commercial/industrial, mixed-use, site-planning, utility coordination, and fuel center projects.

The Civil Engineering Project Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • PE License required
  • 6+ years of civil engineering project management experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or similar accredited degree
  • Familiarity with local city, county, and state land development regulations
  • Proficient in design software like Civil 3D, Water CAD, Storm CAD, Sewer CAD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, and Microsoft Office
  • In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor production teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client relations and interpersonal skills

The Civil Engineering Project Manager's role will involve:

  • Designing, planning, and managing land development projects
  • Providing technical guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff on construction designs, modifications, and repairs
  • Developing project scopes, timelines, fee schedules, and proposals for new projects
  • Handling site/civil development tasks, including grading design, roadway design, stormwater management, and utility system design
  • Using design software to accurately render and communicate designs
  • Conducting site assessments, testing materials, and evaluating strength factors
  • Planning projects using data from drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and survey reports
  • Estimating materials, labor, and equipment to calculate project costs
  • Collaborating with architects, contractors, and surveyors to ensure smooth project progress
  • Monitoring project milestones to ensure compliance with safety, design, and sanitation standards
  • Performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance upon project completion
  • Managing all associated reports, calculations, and documentation
  • Overseeing the financial progress of projects to ensure they remain on schedule and within budget
