The Global IT Deployment organization manages the IT Infrastructure scope of a complex suite of projects and is responsible for the delivery of initiatives across business teams and operations groups within Amazon Fulfilment IT. Our projects deliver on the solutions that power the physical fulfilment of our customers' orders. This includes management of site launches across the globe and directly supports shipping packages to millions of Amazon.com customers across the world.
As a Manager of Technical Infrastructure Program Management, you will lead the Operational Excellence (OE) team, defining the overall strategy and leading initiatives to ensure high quality deployment processes at global scale. In this role you will lead a team of technical infrastructure program managers responsible for the global reporting mechanisms for our deployment processes and tooling. The OE team defines and drives key performance indicators for reporting compliance, data accuracy and the performance of our products, using this data to identify and deliver initiatives to streamline our deployments end-to-end. This position will own and lead business reviews with global leadership to showcase the status and performance of our projects and programs, and coordinate across field and tooling teams to drive resolution of recurring issues.
Key job responsibilities
Hire, train, and develop a team of IT Technical Infrastructure Program Managers
Own the definition and delivery of an improvement roadmap for the OE team
Manage the development/enhancement of our program management tools
Define and measure our project and program performance KPIs
Leading business reviews with senior IT leadership
Own forecasting mechanisms for resources and budget
Developing and maintaining standards for deployment guides and SOPs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience of technical infrastructure program management
3+ years' experience leading technical infrastructure program management teams
Project management training, PMP or Prince2 certification or equivalent.
Ability to travel frequently within region and Internationally (25%)
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent
Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across organizational structures and multiple management levels
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding of core IT infrastructure and service concepts
Intermediate-level knowledge in one or more of the following: LAN, WAN, Wireless, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Low voltage data cabling, or data facilities technologies.
Experience leading program management system/tool enhancement
Process efficiency qualification such as Six Sigma or equivalent
