Job Overview:
Client is seeking a highly skilled Business (Data) Analyst to join its dynamic Business Analytics and Testing Support team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the implementation of Enterprise Data Management tools. Your primary responsibilities include documenting use cases, validating success criteria through testing, and supporting end-users with tools like Collibra, Informatica, IBM Knowledge Catalog, Snowflake, SafeFME, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
The role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of data governance and enterprise data management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days on-site in Richmond, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project team members and business stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes and identify system pain points.
- Conduct root cause analysis and propose business or technical solutions to address gaps and deficiencies.
- Develop detailed process flows, context diagrams, and data flow diagrams to document current processes and recommend improvements.
- Elicit and document detailed business and technical requirements, using progressive elaboration techniques to create clear and actionable user stories.
- Work closely with the Product Owner to maintain the product backlog, group related stories into Themes, and identify dependencies.
- Create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups to facilitate stakeholder understanding of proposed solutions.
- Define and document test objectives, test plans, and test cases; execute tests and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Communicate testing progress and results to Project Managers and Scrum Masters.
- Ensure proposed solutions are both cost-effective and technically feasible for implementation.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8+ years of advanced understanding and hands-on experience with enterprise data management concepts and tools.
- 8+ years of experience in delivering business and systems analysis artifacts.
- 5+ years of experience as an Agile Business Analyst with a strong understanding of Scrum concepts and methodology.
- Proven experience in organizing and maintaining Product and Sprint backlogs.
- Proficiency in translating client and product strategy requirements into actionable application requirements and user stories.
- Expertise in defining acceptance criteria and managing the acceptance process with development teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project Server.
- Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI-PBA.
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
- Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira for agile software development and work item tracking.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as TestComplete, Cucumber, or Selenium.
Tools and Platform Expertise:
- Collibra Advanced expertise in data governance and data catalog management.
- Snowflake Expert level in data warehousing and analytics.
- Informatica Expert in ETL, data integration, and data migration.
- SafeFME & ArcGIS Enterprise Proficient in spatial data analysis and migration.
