Job Title: Senior Project Manager - DER Interconnection

Location: Hybrid (with some on-site project visits required)

Work Shift: Standard Business Hours, (40+ hours a week)

Contract Duration: 2 years, with potential for long-term opportunities due to increasing workload through 2031.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

  • 5-10 years of experience managing medium voltage (12kV-69kV) utility projects.

  • Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of projects through all phases (initiation to closeout).

  • Proficiency in reading electrical prints and understanding SOX accounting principles.

  • Experience with contract management, real estate easements, zoning, and permitting processes.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with various stakeholders.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to manage a portfolio of over 25 Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Interconnection projects, including community solar projects, feeder line extensions, and substation upgrades.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing medium voltage utility projects (12kV-69kV) and demonstrate strong financial forecasting and contract management acumen. You will work closely with stakeholders, balancing utility resource constraints with customer schedules and cost limitations, while ensuring all stages of the project life cycle are completed efficiently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience managing Distributed Energy Resource (DER) projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and project management tools.

  • Long-term interest in advancing within ComEd as a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of 25+ projects from initiation through design, construction, and closeout.

  • Oversee DER interconnection projects, ensuring adherence to Interconnection Agreements (IA) and stakeholder expectations.

  • Lead procurement, resource coordination, design, construction, and commissioning processes.

  • Handle financial reporting and tracking in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) principles.

  • Facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including utility teams and customers.

  • Balance competing priorities related to utility resource availability and customer demands.

  • Ensure compliance with real estate easement, zoning, and permitting requirements.

Pay Details: $100.00 to $107.00 per hour
