We are looking for a proactive and highly-organized Accounts Payable Manager to spearhead our clients extensive Accounts Payable team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, solid experience in accounts payable, and a solid familiarity with the real estate industry.

This role will involve directly managing the oversight and coordination of a large and busy accounts payable department, with responsibilities ranging from directing workflow processes and maintaining vendor relationships to managing financial systems and presenting month-end financial reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage the operations and activities of a busy accounts payable department, including overseeing team workflow to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Manage system operations with a particular focus on optimizing the use and functionality of Yardi and AvidXchange.
  • Develop enhanced vendor workflow processes, aligning with operational needs and ensuring a seamless and effective accounts payable process.
  • Cultivate strong vendor relationships, fostering a positive rapport and facilitating regular communication and correspondence to ensure timely payments and dispute resolution.
  • Compile and present comprehensive and accurate month-end reports, liaising with other departments to confirm and consolidate financial data, thus ensuring a cohesive financial overview.
  • Craft and implement effective accounts payable strategies, using clear insights and forward-thinking approaches to optimize resources and improve financial functioning.
  • Serve as the point-person for all accounts payable queries, leveraging in-depth financial understanding and superb problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Regularly confer with company executives and department heads about budget forecasts, vendor contracts, and other financial considerations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years in a stable Accounts Payable role with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience within the real estate industry is crucial.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in system management, particularly Yardi and AvidXchange.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering positive internal and external relationships.
  • Able to plan, prioritize, and strategize effectively, demonstrating a strong grasp of financial strategies and their implementation within a dynamic team setting.
  • Commitment to accuracy, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, paired with a proactive approach to issues management and resolution.
