Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AI Strategy Lead to spearhead the development and implementation of COTA's generative AI and large language model (LLM) governance framework. This one-year position will be instrumental in shaping COTA's approach to AI integration while ensuring robust controls and transparency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive AI readiness assessments across departments, including staff surveys and qualitative interviews
- Develop and execute risk assessment frameworks focusing on privacy, data bias, and security vulnerabilities
- Analyze and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local AI regulations and guidelines
- Identify and nurture internal AI champions and data-savvy departments
- Design and oversee controlled AI experimentation programs
- Create strategic roadmaps for AI transformation and change management
- Develop standardized procurement language for AI-related technology acquisitions
- Deliver detailed reports and recommendations for AI integration strategies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in technology strategy, with at least 3 years focusing on AI/ML initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in risk assessment and compliance frameworks for emerging technologies
- Strong background in change management and stakeholder engagement
- Excellence in technical writing and presentation skills
- Experience with AI governance and policy development
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in relevant field
- Experience in public sector or transportation industry
- Knowledge of federal and state AI regulations
- Background in conducting technology readiness assessments
- Familiarity with AI/ML platforms and tools
- Project management certification
