Senior QA Manager
Loacation: Jacksonville, FL (candidates must work on site in Jacksonville, FL)


Job Overview:
As the Senior QA Manager, you'll lead a substantial QA team with up to 10 direct reports, each embedded within five agile teams that support core products like Policy Center, Rating, Billing Center, Agency Management System, and Quoting Hub. The QA team brings a blend of functional and automation skills. We're looking for a change-driven leader with a solid QA foundation, adept at delivery and relationship management, to engage with business partners and guide our team through operational improvements and maturity growth.


Responsibilities:



  • Cultivate a workplace that emphasizes ethical decision-making by motivating, supporting, and exemplifying core values, information protection policies, and ethical practices.

  • Manage and mentor team members, including recruitment, goal setting, work planning, skill development, and performance reviews.

  • Develop and uphold comprehensive QA strategies, including an automation roadmap, in partnership with business and technology teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement in QA services with clearly defined metrics to enhance value.

  • Establish QA standards and best practices using layered testing principles to ensure product quality.

  • Identify and resolve QA challenges that arise within agile teams throughout the project or product lifecycle.

  • Contribute to budget planning and oversight for QA tools, training, and staffing resources.


Skills and Competencies:



  • Business and technology expertise with strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.

  • Experience with modern test management and layered automation tools.

  • Familiarity with cloud and digital solutions, alongside DevOps principles.

  • Strong understanding of risk management practices.

  • Extensive background in manual and automated software QA.

  • High emotional intelligence with project management abilities.

  • Strong presentation, communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.

  • Strategic thinker with decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Proficient in change management.


Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Understanding or background in the property insurance industry.

  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise-level software testing for web-based applications within large-scale, relational database environments, plus 2+ years in a leadership role.

  • Familiarity with tools like Rally, ReadyAPI, Selenium, Postman, and Parasoft.

  • Experience with the Guidewire platform.


Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED (required).

  • Associate/Technical Degree or 2 years of relevant experience, OR a blend of education and experience totaling 2 years.

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of relevant experience, OR a combination of college and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years.

  • Additional education may count towards work experience.
