We are searching for a Quality Control Manager for our 120,000 square foot Tortilla Manufacturing Facility in Goldsboro NC. This individual will work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, sanitation and other departments to insure that all standards are met.

  • Oversee Quality Control
  • Develop and implement training for all employees as it relates to food safety, food quality, and sanitation.
  • Fully understand all implementation of Food Safety and Food Quality Programs and be able to manage these programs, including SQF
  • Manage all regulatory audits including FDA, DOD, NCDA, OSHA or others as needed.
  • Participate in all third-party audits including customers and others hired by company.
  • Responsible for the overall quality of the product that is approved for shipment
  • Understand operations of business including manufacturing, product safety and quality, scheduling, and staffing
  • Perform inspections of finished product, including packaging
  • Insure adherence to all standards of food quality and food safety of all products by all employees
  • Coordinate calibration of all test equipment
  • Work with production to ensure proper feedback is given to all staff regarding the quality of finished product that is required in relation to the quality that is being given
  • Rework or reject finished product as required
  • Place on hold any product that does not meet the agreed quality or safety requirements
  • Participate in meetings with production, policy, process and procedures and other management to insure proper communication
  • Accurately document the results of all testing
  • Participation in all internal and external food or safety audits and participate in correcting any issues discovered related to product quality or safety
  • Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists
  • As plant operates 24/7, be willing to work the hours needed to insure supervision and implementation of all programs for all shifts

Nature of Work

The job requires constant interaction with internal staff as well as customers and vendors. Must be able to constructively manage people and inspire them to strive for quality work and service. Must be able to quickly understand and resolve problems. Must establish an atmosphere that promotes food safety and customer service.

Qualifications Preferred: 4-year undergraduate degree in Food Science or Similar

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing facility
