About The Internship Program

We are looking to hire interns for our 10-week summer internship program, which will run from June to August. Participants can expect to learn about different metals products and various aspects of global physical metals trading, which may include understanding the fundamentals of metal markets, derivative hedging on various exchanges, analyzing market data and trends, exploring the logistics involved in transporting and storing metals, gaining insights into risk management strategies, and accounting principles. During the program, participants may assist in identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and presenting potential trading, financing and investment opportunities for the firm. The program will create and reinforce skills in financial analysis, risk management, and business development within the commodities sector, allowing participants a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge, develop industry connections, and explore potential career paths in the industry.

What We Are Looking For

  • Applicants must be in their junior or senior year at a 4-year accredited college or university.
  • Must be able to work in our Stamford, CT office 5 days a week.
  • Have a strong interest in commodities.
  • Major in Economics, Finance, International Trade, a Mining related field, Math, Business, Marketing, or Accounting.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications with advanced Excel skills in modeling and financial valuation.
  • Highly proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week strongly preferred.
  • Multi-lingual candidates are a plus.

What The Intern Will Do

  • Gain practical knowledge and exposure to physical trading, market analysis, trade finance, industry research, accounting, and/or risk management.
  • May assist traders in tracking physical movements of metals and associated documents, maintain reports, and help prepare paperwork and data records.
  • May assist the risk management team in assessing risk, maintaining associated documents, reports, and data records.
  • Special projects and other administrative functions as assigned.
