Join our dedicated team as a Database Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize healthcare data management. You will be instrumental in designing and developing the database architecture that underpins Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) initiatives for healthcare organizations nationwide, including significant academic centers, integrated health systems, and community hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for database solutions, including the development of database code to support critical client objectives.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to devise robust data management strategies that yield meaningful insights for healthcare systems.
  • Design and implement high-performance ETL processes that optimize data transformation and enhance system efficiency.
  • Update and maintain existing systems and code, ensuring seamless data handling, conversion, and storage.
  • Engage in Agile software development, actively participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Develop expertise in our applications and their database frameworks, addressing complex challenges in healthcare.
  • Work closely with data and infrastructure teams to architect an Azure SQL Managed Instance (MI) data warehouse along with associated data models.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance our data model and its output, contributing to the elevation of our data services.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, and SSIS.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and managing complex transactional and analytical databases.
  • Proficient in ETL automation tools and data automation processes.
  • Strong foundation in database design and development, with advanced SQL skills for creating data models, optimizing views, and performing tuning and quality control.
  • Experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SQL Profiler and Azure App Insights is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, Agile development methodologies, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities, accompanied by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-motivated individual with a genuine curiosity to learn and expand technical proficiencies.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
