  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator. This is direct-hire and pay is $80K-$120K, based on experience. If you would like to be considered, please apply today. Our client will move quickly for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for projects.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Review contract and bid documents
  • Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings.
  • Prepare scope letters and proposals.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Engineering Department
  • Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in work.
  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Estimating Manager with recommendation for resolution.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years related experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in PDF viewers
  • Familiarity with estimating software
