Description

The Physical Logistics & Inventory Manager is responsible for leading a supervisory team to manage the Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Control functions. The position optimizes the flow of goods, ensures accurate inventory and assesses space requirements for customer service, inventory and cost objectives. The position provides strategic leadership to implement leading edge processes and technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Optimize and manage the flow of goods and information with the physical logistics network.
  • Recommend and implement leading edge processes and technology for inventory tracking and workload efficiency.
  • Hire and staff to continuously move the function to higher performance.
  • Assess and improve the efficiency of distribution networks, warehouses, and logistics operations.
  • Lead strategic initiatives related to warehouse capacity, cost and service optimization within Click Bond’s procurement-to-customer supply chain.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and inventory accuracy.
  • Define metrics, develop program management mechanisms, and invent/simplify processes to drive decision-making in complex operational situations.
  • Recommend improvements to safety stock and expiration management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various functions, including but not limited to Production, Sales, Planning, and Procurement, to influence and facilitate agreements that achieve shared goals, while managing cross-functional initiatives that ensure continuous improvement and adherence to Lean philosophy.
  • Drive performance improvement and efficiency in product delivery.
  • Identify and deliver operational improvement opportunities in network capacity, focusing on inventory management, logistics strategy, and transportation optimization.
  • Monitor and optimize key network capacity metrics to ensure the smooth flow of goods or services through the supply chain network.
  • Support safety programs and compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
  • Manage inventory control maintenance and random counts in accordance with network count strategies.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Possess strong functional and technical skills in warehouse operations and have experience with Lean and process improvement methodologies such as Kaizen or Six Sigma.
  • Ability to define program requirements and use data and metrics to determine improvements.
  • Skilled in Excel with knowledge of pivot tables and VLookUp.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, effectively engaging with multiple stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to write and read English


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within physical logistics, continuous improvement, manufacturing or supply chain. Additional years of experience a plus.
  • People leadership experience including demonstrated development of team competencies.
  • Experience with ERP transactions.
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry preferred.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Control teams across all Click Bond locations.
  • Execute people leadership responsibilities in accordance with Click Bond policies and applicable laws.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work primarily performed in a standard office environment. If in manufacturing areas, may be exposed to noise, smells, heat, dust, etc. Work requires the observance of fire regulations and safe work practices.
