Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will design components and sub-assemblies using SolidEdge and AutoCAD, adhering to engineering specifications and standards. Responsibilities include generating mechanical drawings, developing layouts, performing calculations (e.g., motor and gearbox sizing), and collaborating with Controls Engineering. The role also involves preparing technical manuals, Bills of Materials, and ensuring compliance with equipment specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in food processing equipment design, project management, and system design, with a focus on hygienic design. Proficiency in SolidEdge/AutoCAD, problem-solving skills, and a strong initiative are essential.

Hours

6:00AM - 2:30PM

Monday-Friday

Overtime as needed

Pay

$38.50 - $43.25

Responsibilities

  • Generate mechanical drawings and BOMs using SolidEdge and AutoCAD.
  • Develop layout concepts for custom conveyors, ovens, and material handling equipment.
  • Perform engineering calculations for motor, gearbox, and cylinder sizing.
  • Ensure equipment meets specifications through checklist completion.
  • Write technical manuals for new equipment.
  • Assist with drawing corrections and prepare Bill of Materials for various departments.
  • Troubleshoot and correct mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with teams on system designs.
  • Provide project management and customer interaction on design and fabrication projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Mechanical Engineering
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 1 year or more of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element-based methods.
