Job Description

The Project Engineer administers the prime contract for the project, administers all subcontractors for the project, performs materials controls and is responsible for other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for reviewing Contract drawings and specifications.
  • Assist Project Team in checking that the self-perform work follows the Contract drawings, specs, and approved submittals.
  • Responsible for reviewing Subcontractors and vendors shop drawings for conformance to Contract drawings and Specs.
  • Assist the Project Team coordinating drawings of all disciplines to identify conflicts or clashes.
  • Responsible for producing RFIs when there are changes in conditions, conflicts, or a need to clarify items in Contract Documents.
  • Maintain electronic as-built drawings and information for submission to DOR.
  • Assist Project Manager in processing RFIs, Submittals, Contractor Daily Reports, QC Reports, Project Photos, Project Schedules, purchase orders, QC Meeting Agendas and Meeting Minutes, Environmental Meeting Agendas and Minutes.
  • Assist Superintendent and foreman in overseeing work being performed in the field.
  • Perform daily task of filling out field logs, noting important observations, and reporting back any issues to the Project Team.
  • Assist Project Manager in submission of monthly billings to the Owner.
  • Inputting RFIs, quantities, invoices, reports, and other documents into Project Manage system.
  • Review cost and productivity reports.
  • Assist Cost Engineer in reviewing timesheets, vendor invoices, and quantities.
  • Assist Superintendent and Foreman with safety documentation and reporting.
  • Performs any function or miscellaneous Project Engineering work as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years practical construction experience.
  • Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Blue Beam Revu helpful.
  • Able to plan and organize tasks, have effective written and verbal communication skills and function under pressure or time limitations.
  • Able to travel to outer islands for extended periods if required.

Starting Salary: $85,000.00/yr.
