Position: VP, Acute Care Risk Management

Northwest Talent Solutions LLC is seeking a highly experienced and driven individual to join our client's team as the VP of Acute Care Risk Management. This is a full-time senior leadership role reporting to our client's Tallahassee, Florida location.
As the VP of Acute Care Risk Management, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of risk management for our acute care facilities. This includes developing and implementing risk management policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance and support to our team of risk management professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures for our acute care facilities
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Provide guidance and support to our team of risk management professionals
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management programs and make recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk management
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations related to risk management in the healthcare sector
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on risk management initiatives and potential risks
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as insurance providers and legal counsel
- Participate in the development and implementation of crisis management plans
- Provide training and education to staff on risk management best practices
- Lead investigations and root cause analyses of adverse events and develop action plans to prevent future occurrences
- Prepare and present reports on risk management activities to senior leadership and regulatory agencies as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, risk management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices in the acute care setting
- Experience developing and implementing risk management policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to risk management in healthcare
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Willingness to travel to different locations as needed
