What we're seeking:

The UAT Senior Operations Specialist possesses strong leadership qualities, enabling them to lead projects of any complexity end-to-end. They effectively lead testing efforts, coordinate internally and cross-functionally, and advocate for necessary improvements to ensure the final product aligns with Frontier's user experience expectations and business requirements.

In addition, the UAT Senior Operations Specialist is expected to autonomously manage their testing efforts, while demonstrating adaptability to lead across diverse domains and systems with minimal to no supervision. In this in-person role, you will be required to report to either our Dallas, TX, or Tampa, FL location to complete your work responsibilities.

What you'll do:
  • Leads multiple complex efforts independently, including end-to-end planning, execution, and reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the UAT team within scrum development teams or Enterprise projects, effectively representing UAT needs and priorities
  • Plans and prioritizes UAT activities based on project timelines and requirements
  • Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases to validate software functionality, usability, and performance
  • Identify, document, track, and retest defects for their projects to ensure timely resolution, while understanding system gaps due to BAU issues before opening a new defect
  • Leads UAT meetings, status updates, presentations, and demos to stakeholders, as necessary for their areas or efforts
  • Coordinates and facilitates training sessions to help other testers get familiarized with their projects, as well as Frontier applications, systems, and processes
  • Mentor and support other testers in understanding UAT processes and best practices
  • Informs UAT Management of test environment(s) issues to ensure they accurately mirror the production environment. This includes but is not limited to latency, missing or broken functionality
  • Assists in ensuring that UAT members have access to tools and applications needed for testing
  • Continuously improve testing processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the UAT areas they support
  • Drive functional growth by independently seeing knowledge about UAT trends, tools, and technologies
  • Identify data needs for their efforts or as assigned by leadership, promptly to ensure data is available to test
  • Document and report any new data needs or tool enhancements identified, that could improve UAT's accessibility to test data
  • Ability to create or retrieve data from IT systems as necessary to fulfill UAT testing needs
  • Have broad working knowledge of current test case automation and actively participate in developing and enhancing automation capabilities within UAT
  • Provide feedback to leadership, stakeholders, and IT based on testing results to determine UAT go/no-go approval
  • Report concerns appropriately about potential negative impacts to users, and business processes, even if they do not result in a defect. (e.g. needed workarounds, training call-outs, process concerns, documentation needs)
  • Track, monitor, and report the progress and status of their projects and support UAT leadership in maintaining overarching UAT reporting

What background you should have:
  • General understanding of how IT systems interact and high-level knowledge of Frontier's system architecture
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), as well as agile and waterfall methodologies: familiarity with concepts like sprints, user stories, integration, deployments, and how UAT testing fits
  • Proficient in UAT used software necessary for tracking or completing work, like AccelQ, Jira and Power BI or similar software
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: attention to detail to quickly analyze issues, identify impacts and root cause, and propose solutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication: the ability to represent UAT with different audiences including stakeholders, developers, QA testers, and leadership
  • Time management: the ability to prioritize tasks, create schedules, allocate time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with risk-based testing approach prioritizes and focuses testing efforts of high-risk areas to optimize time utilization
  • Proficient with test planning: accurately plan and estimate testing efforts, creating comprehensive test plans upfront for their efforts
  • Working knowledge of basic productivity software like MS Office/Google Suite
