Skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and operation of County facilities and related system mechanical equipment. Performs minor electrical preventative maintenance and carries out assignments requiring technical application of principles of electricity and the skilled repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components and equipment. Has lead worker responsibilities when working with a crew. Primarily responsible for equipment and machinery maintenance and repair, but duties may also include plant operation and general maintenance tasks. Most repair work is performed from daily inspections or reports from plant operators or immediate supervisor. Work is performed under general supervision of a technical superior and is reviewed primarily through the efficient operation of equipment and machinery.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience in facility plant equipment repair or industrial mechanical and electrical repair work.

PREFERENCE FOR: Formal training in electrical building maintenance, including repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical components and equipment.

Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

Will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check prior to appointment.
