Technical Writer

Agility Consultants is currently seeking a Technical Writer. This position consults with subject matter experts and conducts research and review of materials such as Federal and State statutes, regulations, executive orders, departmental manuals, agency policies, or other publications as needed to develop instructions, handbooks, desk guides, training courses, and/or reference libraries on topics related to a federal program. This position will also research, develop, write, edit, and/or update marketing materials and content for our website, advertisements, email campaigns, proposal responses, and branding packages.

Job Duties Include:

• Research, develop, write, edit, or update materials for policy development and training purposes.
• Research, develop, write, edit, or update marketing materials and content for website, sales pitches, advertisements, email campaigns, proposal responses, and branding packages.
• Develop graphic displays.
• Research various sources to gain knowledge on the subject.
• Organize subject matter material and research.
• Develop clear and concise writing assignments.
• Edit information and hardcopy documentation to ensure proper cross-referencing.
• Ensure the material is presented in a user-friendly manner and all applicable guidelines for indexing are followed.?

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience, with at least 2 years specializing in preparing technical reports, papers, or policy related to agriculture or natural resources and a bachelor s degree or 10 years of general experience, with at least 5 years of specialized experience. The Technical Writer must have the ability to write source material and create marketing materials, have knowledge of regulatory and indexing guidelines, possess excellent research and analytical skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software and Adobe Acrobat and form products. The Technical Writer must possess exceptional communication skills with the ability to write in various styles to a variety of audiences (i.e., scientific, general, etc.). Knowledge of GPO writing practices and general agricultural and/or natural resources knowledge are preferred.
