Turner Industries Group is looking for a Product Owner to join our Information Technology group. This Product Owner is involved in the development of valuable custom software products supporting the business of Turner Industries Group. The Product Owner holds and conveys product business goals, vision, and strategy to the development Team. The Product Owner is the only one who can align what's valuable to the Business with a software development team. By tactfully working with users, performing requirements gathering, leading estimation meetings, storyboarding, researching, testing, or
training the Product Owner skillfully guides a team to developing a product that meets the current and future needs of business. Product Owner drives project direction by prioritizing features in the backlog. The Product Owner is also responsible for visibility and transparency of a project through constant collaborative communication with business stakeholders, team members and IT Management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or a business centric field paired with industrial construction job experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA, Scrum Team member, IT Trainer, Product Development, or closely related field.
  • Perform a variety of tasks under little supervision and must be willing to lead on a project team.
  • Primary job functions will require a high degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Demonstrated skill at estimation, project management, leadership, negotiation and collaborative team efforts.
  • Relies on own judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • A positive attitude, open mind and willingness to learn are essential.

Functional Requirements:

Be comfortable as a product's primary stakeholder; Be able to develop a vision of what product we wish to build. Convey that product to the team and use it to strategize the products direction. Developing a solid understanding of the users, the business and competitive advantage brought from developing the product. Skillful at diplomatically representing the business, the team and IT management. Negotiating mutually beneficial alternatives to features between the business and developers. In other words; Focusing on what the business needs not how they believe it needs to be implemented. Build & prioritize the features list meeting the product requirements. Create business models, dictionaries, roadmaps, storyboards, MVP (Minimal Viable Product), MMF (Minimum Marketable Feature) and estimates for the product. Providing estimates, risk analysis, project status updates and guidance to the business, the team and IT management. Promoting visibility of the product. Putting on display artifacts which promote transparency of a project. Be available to business owners and the development team for regular face-to-face discussion on the product.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
