Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of high-quality, user-centric digital interfaces, applying advanced design principles such as typography, layout, color theory, iconography, and page hierarchy.

  • Manage and implement design systems and UI libraries, ensuring scalable and consistent design outputs.

  • Collaborate closely with business and development teams to align design with business goals and technical feasibility.

  • Serve as a key contributor to user research efforts, guiding the team in methodology and execution to ensure research findings drive design decisions.

  • Lead initiatives to ensure accessibility standards such as Section 508 compliance in all design projects.

  • Confidently lead stakeholder meetings, facilitating discussions that move projects forward and ensure clarity of requirements.

  • Apply Business Analyst principles, including requirements gathering, business process mapping, and ensuring design aligns with business objectives.

  • Multitask and lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all design deliverables are met on time and align with project goals.

  • Lead a small team of designers, mentoring them on design best practices while also leading yourself by managing your own responsibilities efficiently.

  • Mentor junior designers, providing guidance on design best practices and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • BA in a related field, bootcamp certificate, or equivalent education and relevant work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design.

  • Strong understanding of modern product development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.

  • Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and research tools.

  • Proven experience in user research methodologies, including facilitating and applying research to design decisions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and take initiative in creating opportunities and solutions.

  • Experience in Design Thinking processes and how to implement them.

  • A portfolio showcasing three or more real-world projects where you played a significant role as both a designer and a leader.
  • Strong background or knowledge in Business Analyst principles, including requirements gathering, business process mapping, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to multitask and lead multiple projects simultaneously, while managing time and priorities efficiently.
