Job Summary:

The Senior Information Technology Manager will manage and direct the company's information technology (IT) operations, leading and managing the software development and application support teams, and ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service, that the application systems are functional, scalable, and meet the organizations' standards for security, performance, and quality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Hires and trains IT staff.
  • Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team.
  • Establish performance objectives, provide ongoing coaching, and conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Leads development and implementation processes for the organization's IT systems and department.
  • Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of software applications to meet business requirements.
  • Manage application lifecycle, including upgrades, patches, and end-of-life activities.
  • Establish service level agreements (SLAs) and Key performance indicators (KPIs) for application support.
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
  • Facilitates IT security audits or investigations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinates multisite IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP).
  • Lead Automation and System Integration Efforts:
  • Collaborate with the internal Business Transformation group to automate key manual processes, including crew scheduling, pilot payroll, and technical operations management (inventory control and maintenance planning), with a focus on transitioning to a paperless environment.
  • Oversee the cross-functional integration of critical systems within flight operations, technical operations, HR, and finance.
  • Streamline data flow across platforms to eliminate inefficiencies and support more informed decision-making.
  • Enable operational scalability through improved system functionality and integration.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field required; master's degree or relevant certification, (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Agile) preferred.
  • At least ten years of experience managing an IT department.

Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in software development and support preferred.
  • 3-5 years in a leadership of management role.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
