Torch Technologies is seeking a mechanical engineer with acquisition experience to provide engineering evaluation of engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life cycle cost, producibility, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule; provide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of assigned IPT.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience to include the below essential duties:
  • Provides technical support, conducts data analysis and applies knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff.
  • Evaluates complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, subsystems and systems.
  • Has technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved product and/or processes.
  • Conducts independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct reviews on weapon program portfolios to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved IAW approved specifications.
  • Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved IAW program specifications.
  • Perform assigned tasking from IPT lead engineer in support of weapon system automated test equipment and peculiar support equipment development, fabrication, qualification, and integration support of other SPO IPTs.
  • Provide resources with knowledge and experience in identifying, analyzing, and evaluating mechanical, structural, thermal, and material characteristics and performance of armament systems resulting from transportation, handling, storage, and operational use.
  • Advise and assist with development of logistics planning documents to include, but not limited to Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, weapon system delivery and deployment plans (integrated and optimized across Development Support Manager production and delivery schedules and Support Production Manager/depot induction/modification plans and schedules).


Job Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Must have at least 3-10 years in related Mechanical engineering experience.
  • Secret clearance is required. TS is preferred.
  • Must be familiar with DoD Acquisition processes or project management professional principles.
  • Must have program office experience.


Additional Notes

This position requires candidates to possess a current SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information, with eventual Top Secret eligibility. Inability to maintain a SECRET security clearance will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position.

This position is located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
