Position Overview

The Controls Product Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise related to control products. This role involves supporting customers, sales teams, and engineering departments in the sales, application, integration, and warranty support of these products.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support for control products, assisting customers and internal teams with product selection, application guidance, and troubleshooting.
  • Product Training: Develop and deliver training sessions for customers, sales teams, and partners on the use and application of control products.
  • Product Development Support: Collaborate with engineering and product development teams by providing feedback on product performance, customer needs, and market trends.
  • Customer Interaction: Work with customers to understand their needs, recommend suitable products, and assist with product integration.
  • Sales Support: Assist the sales team with technical inquiries, product presentations, and customer visits.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including product manuals and application notes.
  • Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Warranty Support: Manage warranty claims related to control products by evaluating issues, determining root causes, and coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve them. Ensure timely and accurate processing of warranty claims and communicate outcomes to customers.
  • Factory Communication: Liaise with factory personnel to address inquiries related to parts, outline drawings, serial number identification, and product applications.
  • Quotation Management: Oversee the product quotation process, ensuring accurate and timely responses to customer requests.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and recruit new partners or customers to expand the company s market reach and product distribution.
  • Quality Assurance: Provide feedback on product performance and potential issues, working with the engineering team to implement solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the controls, electric motor, or automation industry.
  • Knowledge of control products, including variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, and PLCs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in product development, customer support, and warranty management is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
