Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Compliance Specialist to ensure that our company’s mortgage processes adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role involves conducting thorough reviews of loan files, developing compliance policies, and providing guidance to internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mortgage regulations and a commitment to maintaining high compliance standards in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance Monitoring: Review loan documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, TRID).
• Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits to identify potential compliance risks and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Regulatory Updates: Stay up-to-date with changes in mortgage regulations and communicate updates to relevant teams.
• Policy Development: Assist in developing, updating, and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
• Training & Guidance: Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters, ensuring they understand and adhere to current regulations.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular compliance reports to management, highlighting any areas of concern and recommending improvements.
• Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, findings, and resolutions.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in mortgage compliance or a related field.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal and state mortgage regulations, including RESPA, TILA, TRID, and HMDA.
• Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into clear guidance.
• Proficiency with compliance management software and tools.
• Certifications: CRCM or other relevant compliance certifications are a plus.
