Position Summary
As the General Manager of SIG s new consumer mobile application, which is a Software Subscription-based Mobile Application & Hardware Ecosystem, you will be fully responsible and accountable for the go-to-market (GTM) and expansion of this new line of business, including the strategic and tactical direction, development, and operations. You will lead cross-functional teams to drive product iterations, revenue model tests, and customer experience enhancements to ensure profitable path and success. The General Manager will be leading the launch and growth of our subscription business, ensuring an extraordinary customer experiences for NewApp customers.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Assemble and lead a team of FTEs and contractors through the launch and growth of NewApp.
Champion a lean, innovative, and experimental culture and ways of working.
Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the hardware and software subscription, aligned with the overall goals of the company
Identify market opportunities, competitive landscape, and customer needs to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends.
Set clear stage-appropriate objectives, key performance indicators (KPI s), and financial targets and ensure achievement.
Business Operations:
Oversee all aspects of the software subscription business, including product development, pricing, packaging, distribution, and customer support.
Collaborate with the product development team to define the roadmap and prioritize features and enhancements based on customer feedback and market requirements.
Ensure efficient and scalable operational processes, including billing, customer onboarding, and subscription management.
Revenue Growth:
Make decisions around monetization and paywalls and pricing
Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention for the software subscription business.
Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and develop actionable plans to increase revenue.
Collaborate with the sales team to create compelling value propositions, pricing models, and sales collateral.
Develop relationships, partnerships, and agreements with 3rd parties with complimentary hardware and software to expand the ecosystem.
Customer Experience:
Champion a customer-centric approach and ensure exceptional user experiences through the customer journey.
Gather customer feedback, conduct market research, and leverage data analytics to continuously improve subscription offerings. Work closely with the customer support team to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and foster long-term customer relationships.
Team Management (if applicable):
Lead and inspire a cross-functional team, including product managers, engineers, marketers, and customer support representatives.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting innovation, professional development, and employee engagement.
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and facilitate the growth and success of team members.
Consumer-Facing Application Development:
Define forward-looking application development roadmap, plans, short-term goals and targeted end product including UI/UX, Pricing, Subscriber attraction and retention, Content creation and monetization models
Manage content development including the SIG Academy and other SIG internal and external content
Ensure effective execution of agreed deliverables working with product and engineering leadership.
Work with internal and external hardware development teams to fold new capabilities into the core application to extend the NewApp ecosystem capabilities to enhance the user experience.
Requirements:
Business owner, founder, and/or entrepreneur mentality with high sense urgency and accountability.
Bachelor s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field,
8+ Years of professional experience in product management, digital media, marketing or eCommerce is required.
Specific experience launching mobile first/only businesses, iOS or Android mobile applications, and/or digital marketing is required.
Experience in a lifestyle, fitness, or outdoor mobile applications (for example, Peloton, Zwift) and/or with hardware in the same areas (e.g., GPS, wearables, other tracking devices)
Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and successfully managing a P&L.
Solid knowledge of product management & performance analytics, customer lifecycle management, mobile user acquisition via organic and paid channels, and digital marketing tools/techniques.
Experience in developing A/B tests and other experiments to improve retention and engagement metrics.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in the firearms or outdoor brands industry is a plus.
Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
