Job Description
Job Title: Help Desk Technician
*NOT A REMOTE POSITION*
Educational requirements: Associates Degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent work experience preferred.
Reports to: IT Manager
Primary job responsibility: Serve as the first point of contact for end users and provide technical assistance for incoming issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
Essential functions of position (list is not all inclusive):
- Superior help desk and customer support skills;
- Diagnose and resolve technical system/hardware/software issues;
- Excellent writing and grammar skills along with strong verbal communication;
- Advise/train users on appropriate action;
- Follow standard help desk procedures;
- Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention;
- Strong analytical, technical, problem solving and organizational skills;
- Possess attention to detail and follow through;
- Is a self-starter who can work independently;
- Able to work in a team and communicate effectively;
- Demonstrates an eagerness to learn and is able to multi-task;
- Stays current with system information, changes, and updates;
- Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 Knowledge: Intermediate;
- Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2 / 2016 / 2019 Knowledge: Intermediate;
- VMware, Hypervisor and VirtualBox Knowledge: Intermediate;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; and
- Other tasks as assigned.
