Cost Analyst - Engineering
General Description/Purpose:
The Cost Analyst will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Cost Analyst does this by coordinating, planning and executing engineering projects including product costing, Cost estimating, Bill of material time calculation, and overall margin analysis for Stickley products. The Cost Analyst completes these functions in the support of the manufacture of furniture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Estimate production costs for Stickley's new product introduction for residential, contract and OEM.
- Ability to create and adjust estimating templates for efficient quote turnaround.
- Support Stickley's Value engineering efforts thru cost analysis of alternative manufacturing processes.
- Scrub Bill of material to ensure accurate cost roll ups.
- Analyze product gross margin and identify cost improvement opportunities.
- Actively participate in LEAN / continuous improvement projects.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to improve process flow and elimination of waste.
- Stay up to date with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials
- Work independently and make decisions based on established operating procedures
Required Experience / Essential Skills:
- Prior experience cost estimating
- Solid understanding of Lean principles
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP and bill of material structure
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently
- Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate well with others
- Excellent computer skills
- Self-motivated / self-directed
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Willingness to challenge the status quo
- Ability to work effectively in a changing environment
Required Education:
- Bachelor degree in Business / finance or technical discipline.
Desired Experience / Skills:
- Prior experience in furniture manufacturing or related industries
Travel:
- 5%
