POSITION DESCRIPTION
KKCS seeks an experienced project estimator for a full-time opportunity as a Senior Estimator in Los Angeles, CA. The Senior Estimator will primarily report to the project s Deputy Executive Director and provide technical resources, knowledge, and expertise to perform the essential job functions and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements cost estimation policies, procedures, work standards and objectives for all types of contract delivery methods including CM/CG.
- Conducts needs assessment to inventory and assess cost estimation practices, standards, procedures, and tools to support development of the Client s design and construction (capital cost) budgets and to support economic optimization of client s project designs.
- Prepares independent cost estimates for professional services, construction, maintenance, and operations contracts, changes, and claims.
- Furnishes cost and price analyses of proposals from consultants and contractors.
- Prepares estimates to establish project budgets for planning, construction and procurement, value engineering studies, real estate and joint development purchase and exchange decisions.
- Provides estimates and economic analyses to support design optimization, constructability, and facilities project feasibility decisions.
- Reviews and provides comments on estimates prepared by other consultants for planning and construction.
- Prepares estimates to validate funding requests from other government agencies and third-party utilities.
- Provides design and construction technical analyses and support to the Client as needed.
- Conducts construction market analysis by reviewing cost and bidding trends and evaluating factors that may influence construction bidding.
- Designs, develops, and deploys industry best practices, standards, procedures, and tools to continually improve the cost estimating function.
- Performs all other cost estimating functions for the Project as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in construction project cost estimating
- Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Excel
