Primarily responsible for the IT project management of the following system replacement projects: Message Switch System (MSS) Replacement and
Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Modernization.
The MSS is a centralized hub/router through which information between state and federal agencies is transmitted
The CCH is a repository of criminal history data that is reported by local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies. Both projects are running in parallel and are estimated to last 30 months. Both projects include a variety of interfaces. Serves as the IT lead for the project and responsible for the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
Works within the established IT project management framework to track project progress, produce required documentation, adhere to high quality standards, and meet customer expectations. Supports and maintains responsibilities of IT projects, to include, but not limited to: identifying/tracking scope, timelines, requirements, deliverables, tasks, risks, issues, changes, testing; reviewing both technical and non-technical documentation; scheduling meetings; and providing meeting notes and action items.
Responsible for coordinating communication, identifying and escalating issues, and making decisions as appropriate. IT operations units (network, system administration, development, etc.); Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) business unit partners; and vendor partners. This is an individual contributor role without human resource management responsibilities (e.g., hiring, performance management). The position reports to the manager of the IT Project Management Office. Manages two projects of medium to high complexity with the potential for additional project assignments of low to medium priority.
