#1796 Senior Cisco Engineer

The Senior Cisco Engineer is accountable for the design, implementation, and support of IT infrastructure focused on Cisco network hardware. The Senior Cisco Engineer will interface directly with multiple business units, customers, and suppliers to provide services and support for the IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Installs, configures, monitors, and maintains the network infrastructure
  • Troubleshoots and resolves network infrastructure issues
  • Designs and implements infrastructure changes and upgrades
  • Designs, configures, and implements network infrastructure including switches, routers, Wireless Access Points/Controllers, and firewalls
  • Provides technical designs and configurations for infrastructure security, including VPN services, security policies, and firewall configurations
  • Configures and maintains network management and monitoring systems such as SolarWinds
  • Manages the IP address schema for the network infrastructure
  • Provides escalated on- and off-hours support for network-related IT issues

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience with infrastructure engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches particularly 9xxx Series Switches
  • Deep understanding of physical and logical network segmentation, including VLANs and IP subnetting
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP configurations, network addressing, and IP address management
  • Strong understanding of the OSI Model, with an emphasis on Layers 1-4
  • Proficiency in network routing protocols, including OSPF and EIGRP
  • Expertise with DNS and DHCP
  • Strong skills in structured copper and fiber cabling
  • Expert-level troubleshooting of network issues, including connectivity and latency for both production and office environments
  • Skilled in using SolarWinds or similar network monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and procedures
  • Proficiency in Visio for network documentation
  • Tier 1 automotive interior supplier experience is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated drive and passion for continuous improvement
