FedBright LLC is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Specialist to identify, pursue, and secure U.S. government contracts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal procurement processes, the ability to manage the full business development lifecycle, and the expertise to develop competitive, compliant proposals. This role is critical to growing our business within the federal market.

Key Responsibilities

Government Contract Bidding:

  • Research, identify, and evaluate federal contract opportunities through platforms such as SAM.gov and other government procurement sites.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government contracting requirements, regulations, and trends.
  • Develop a pipeline of potential government contracting opportunities in alignment with company capabilities and strategic goals.

Proposal Development & Writing:

  • Lead the proposal development process, including strategy, scheduling, compliance, and coordination of input from various stakeholders.
  • Write, edit, and produce winning technical and cost proposals, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements (RFP, RFQ, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and craft compelling, tailored responses.
  • Ensure proposals are submitted on time and meet the highest quality standards.

Client & Partner Relations:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key government agencies, contracting officers, and potential partners.
  • Engage in outreach efforts with industry partners for teaming opportunities on large-scale contracts.
  • Represent the company at government contracting conferences, webinars, and industry events.

Strategic Business Development:

  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives and plans aimed at enhancing the company’s positioning in the federal market.
  • Track contract wins, performance, and post-award activities to ensure successful execution and identify potential follow-on opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in business development and proposal writing, preferably within the U.S. federal contracting space.
  • Familiarity with government contracting platforms like SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, and FPDS.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government procurement processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with federal government agencies such as the Department of Defense, GSA, DHS, or others.
  • Track record of winning government contracts through well-crafted proposals.
  • Experience managing proposals from start to finish, including compliance, pricing, and negotiation phases.
Compensation
  • Commission-based: Compensation will be based on secured contracts. Commission structure to be discussed and agreed upon with successful candidates.
