In this role, you will design, develop, build, and test photonic systems that are key to our products. You will also interact with device, hardware, and software design teams to assist in the overall development of photonic systems, specifying, selecting, and qualifying the various components necessary.

We are hiring a Senior Staff HW Engineer to join our Photonics team to drive chip bring-up, testing and characterization of our Silicon Photonics based Optical Interconnect Products.
Responsibilities- You will need to gain a good understanding of our chip specifications so that you can take responsibility for chip bring-up, testing and validation of our next generation of Optical Interconnect products. This includes support for developing chip validation plans aligned to product specifications, xDVT and interoperability testing
- You will be required to contribute to test plan development, test bench configuration planning, set-up of lab test equipment and troubleshooting of validation setups for successful chip bring-up and testing
- You will work collaboratively with the product validation team on Electro-Optic link level testing in our lab using industry standard practices and equipment
Requirements
- Educational: BSEE and MSEE with 5-8 yrs experience in Data Communication field working on Electro-Optic link level testing and characterization in a lab environment
- Familiarity with PCB designs including HW test and debug for Electro Optic circuits
- Ability to work closely with Design Engineers, SW Engineers and wider cross-functional teams to quickly gain knowledge of LM products to drive execution of chip bring-up and validation in our lab
- Hands-on experience using standard bench test equipment for data communications including Electro Optic link testing and characterization
- Basic scripting skills for automation of lab tests including analysis of results and report generation

We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role, including all US locations, is $170,000 - $200,000. Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
