POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy will lead the creation and execution of marketing campaigns to promote listings, build brand awareness, and generate leads. This role requires expertise in digital and traditional marketing, including managing social media, paid advertising, content creation, and event coordination. The Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy will also be responsible for analyzing performance metrics, conducting competitive analysis, and creating personalized strategies for the team of agents to effectively market listings and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media Management

  • Create and manage daily posts across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Create Instagram Stories, reels, and carousels highlighting listings, local amenities, and market insights.
  • Engage with followers and report performance metrics to optimize engagement.
  • Provide weekly reports on social media activities and performance.

Paid Advertising & Lead Generation

  • Plan and execute paid digital ad campaigns on Google, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Track and optimize ad spend for effective lead generation.
  • Use retargeting strategies to nurture leads and keep Own Marin top-of-mind.

Content Creation

  • Write weekly SEO-optimized blog posts on real estate news, lifestyle content, and neighborhood guides.
  • Produce videos, infographics, and success stories for multiple platforms.
  • Design print materials (brochures, postcards) and branded apparel (t-shirts, sweatshirts) and promotional items to enhance brand visibility.
  • Create marketing materials for both digital and print to support listings and events.
  • Utilize tools like SEMRush to monitor web performance and optimize content accordingly.

Listing Marketing

  • Oversee marketing efforts for new listings (photography, copywriting, website, social media).
  • Manage listing launch campaigns across MLS, email marketing, and social media.
  • Geotag and optimize visual content (photos/videos) for SEO.
  • Conduct analysis of listing performance to ensure Own Marin properties are maximizing their reach across web and social.

Email Marketing

  • Develop email campaigns for listings, open houses, market updates, and client engagement.
  • Segment email lists to ensure targeted, personalized communication for buyers, sellers, and prospects.
  • Analyze email performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.

Event Marketing

  • Plan and manage marketing events, including open houses and community events.
  • Collaborate with local businesses to create engaging event experiences.
  • Promote events through email marketing, social media, and community outreach.

Collaborative Team Support

  • Work closely with the Own Marin agents to create customized marketing strategies that align with their individual niches and target audiences.
  • Provide quarterly marketing plans with strategic and personalized suggestions for each agent.
  • Maintain branding consistency across all agent materials, ensuring they align with Own Marin’s voice and style.
  • Participate in team meetings to update the team on marketing activities and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of marketing experience.
  • Proven success in social media management, digital marketing, and advertising.
  • Experience with web design and familiarity with the real estate market is ideal, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Marin County is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create engaging, brand-aligned content.
  • Proficiency in Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, Mailchimp, and Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of SEO, digital ads, and lead generation.
  • Strong understanding of social media algorithms and best practices for both organic and paid content.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to establish systems for efficiency and drive projects from start to finish.
  • Photography and graphic design skills required, with experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools for digital and print content (e.g., brochures, postcards, flyers, branded apparel).
  • Ability to maintain and enhance Own Marin’s brand aesthetic across all channels, including print.
  • A self-starter with fresh ideas who adapts to market trends.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
