The Purchasing Manager will oversee all activities of the procurement department to ensure cost-effective and high-quality purchasing. This role involves contract negotiations, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring our inventory status aligns with operational and financial goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, and a passion for driving continuous improvement to ensure all department KPIs are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure fill rate metrics are met according to company goals.
- Responsible for ensuring raw material supply and cost objectives are met or exceeded by establishing and controlling raw material inventories.
- Investigate variances from planned targets and establish their root cause. Formulate and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Purchasing manager collaborates with managers and peers to fulfill internal and external customer requirements.
- Meets regularly with manufacturing and sales departments to provide supply chain perspective when developing customer proposals.
- Must have strong systems background and the ability to develop current systems and support future ERP implementation.
- Review supplier performance and product quality.
- Identify and address supply chain risk by assessing vendor capabilities and supplier performance for impact on the company.
- Follows Work Instructions, procedures, and company policies, including safety procedures and quality systems requirements.
