General Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the VP & Chief Administrative Officer, the Director, Information Technology will be responsible for the integrity and quality within the Information Technology infrastructure to support operations, management and decision making and will develop, maintain, support and optimize key functional areas. The Director, Information Technology will maintain a level of knowledge to offer appropriate technology solutions in the following areas: system implementation, programming, networking operations, hardware, database administration, project management, capacity planning and security.
Position requires travel to Infinite Legacy regional offices.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar field required. Master s degree preferred.
- Minimum five years experience in IT in a healthcare/regulatory environment desirable.
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- At the request of Human Resources, participates in the screening and hiring process of candidates.
- Maintains and updates the departmental performance management board and reports these departmental projects/goals on a routine schedule as defined by organizational leadership.
- Verifies payroll for signoff on a bi-weekly basis per departmental protocol.
- Approves paid time-off (PTO) requests from staff per departmental protocol.
- Approves expense reports.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates understanding of all areas of information systems, including client/server, PC integration, inter/intra networking, database management, telephone integration and security.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with Senior management, peers, and staff. Highly motivated with the ability to drive results.
- Knowledge of Windows servers, VMware, Active Directory, SQL.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative management style.
- Able to work in a team and engage in consultative manner with management and peers in problem solving situations.
- Expert technical skills in overseeing the design, development and/or implementation of system-related projects.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies towards organization s IT and operational goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops, interprets, and monitors operational budgets for IT.
- Manages all telecommunications and data networks to ensure efficient work processes.
- Responsible for the integrity and quality of the IT infrastructure by ensuring systems availability, training, documentation of systems, technology advantages, software upgrades/enhancements, systems backup, systems security, and protection of all IT assets.
- Establishes and evaluates performance standards for information technology services and IT staff.
- Establishes and maintains IT specific procedures, policies, standards that support the company s goals.
- Provides company value by creating and maintaining appropriate key vendor or consultant relationships that provide current and potential benefit to Infinite Legacy.
- Ensures integration and utilization of external systems and agencies in the OPO and Tissue industry per company strategic and business direction (such as government/regulatory, hospitals, organizations, and agencies).
- Safeguards the organization through managing the security of the organization s systems including, but not exclusive of management of firewalls, virus software, systems patches, password maintenance and documentation, and security audits.
- Responsible for providing leadership and direction to assigned staff-including staff performance review, professional development, and monitoring staff activities. Acts as a coach, mentor and consultant to assigned staff members.
- Establishes and manages the budget and assures initiation, design and maintenance of project plans meet organization s needs while keeping within budget boundaries for same. Develops annual technology budget including hardware, software, internal IT staff and contractors with a focus on selecting best value technology to meet the business objectives.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining an inventory plan and system to track, rotate and replace equipment.
- Provides reports to Finance for disposal of all capital assets.
- Monitors success of technology solutions and adjusts technology plans and projects as needed.
- Maintains, audits and continuously improves security management for the organization s computer systems and networks, including hardware and software.
- Enables strategic use of enterprise-wide information for cross-functional organizations and teams.
- Fosters a customer support culture for all IT resources including implementing best practices.
- Creates and maintains appropriate vendor/consultant relationships. Negotiates and engages with vendors and leverages Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to improve quality and cost effectiveness of vendor services, while monitoring vendor performance and metrics.
- Maintains excellent partnerships and communication across the organization to ensure synergy among all projects undertaken. Works with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
- Ensures configuration, maintenance, modification and documentation of backup and disaster recovery strategies ensuring that necessary information is saved.
- Ensures administration, verification, and restoration of backups as necessary
- Develops a plan to ensure recovery of all systems in the event of disaster
- Works with other departments, managers, and consultants, to develop, test, and maintain plans and procedures for disaster recovery.
- Monitors and updates network security policies and implements to ensure that network is secure.
- Strategically plans for system upgrades and ensure regular system maintenance.
- Keeps familiar with current industry and technology trends. Review corporate needs and makes recommendations to the Chief Administrative Officer.
- Provides the first level of management for any personnel issues, consulting with the Chief Administrative Officer, as needed. Responsible for interviewing, hiring and disciplinary actions.
- Supports IT staff through educational opportunities and other avenues of staff development.
- Administers, maintains and proposes policies for use of IT communication equipment (computers, telephone system, printers, laptops, cellular phones, etc.)
- Ensures and maintains data security to minimize risk.
