Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Supervisor, Systems Engineering
Location: Layton, UT
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform Nuclear Safety Cross-Check Analysis (NSCCA) and Nuclear Safety Analysis and Technical Evaluation (NSATE). This includes performing detailed evaluation (code analysis and test) of software and hardware, to verify that software/hardware requirements are correctly implemented in the design and code and that the resulting design does not contain unexpected nuclear safety hazards.
- In addition to the technical tasks, you will manage 10-20 engineers and be responsible for (1) organizational support for planning, strategy, and business development, (2) supporting the NSCCA PM, (3) providing NSCCA leadership backup, (4) managing manpower staffing of current staff and other staff coordination including safety, (5) facilities responsibility, (6) staff management, (7) performing and directing staff mentoring and training, (8) performance management, (9) customer contact planning and execution, and (10) employee engagement.
- Additionally:
- Using a holistic approach, evaluate end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
- Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
- Ensure requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
- Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed verification requirements.
- Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product verification.
- Assess performance using Air Force Nuclear Safety evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
- Participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
- Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements.
- Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
- Generate system level requirements verification procedures and test procedures.
- Review test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or Physics
- 6 years of NSCCA/NSATE experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred:
- DoD Top Secret Clearance.
