About Rivian
Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
Term: January 13-August 17, 2025, 7-month co-op.
We are looking for talented, forward-thinking control/electrical engineers to join us in developing critical standards, specifications, and procedures for internally built equipment and vendors designing manufacturing equipment for Rivian. Your work will have a significant impact, as you will be building libraries of system templates that will be used as the building blocks for Rivian manufacturing equipment across the entire company.
Responsibilities
- Creating software solutions to automate various steps in the development process, such as tools for auto-generating electrical schematics.
- Create Standard operating procedures for internally developed tools and standards and aid in the role of our tools on projects.
- Aid in the continuous development of our EPLAN Electrical Development Platform.
- Architect standard electrical/fluid solutions for industrial automation systems such as robotics, transportation, power distribution, safety, vision, dispensing, welding, and fastening.
- Validating internally developed standards and tools on production-representative lab equipment and virtual simulations.
- Aid in the software architecture for Machine Vision systems.
- Use Git for version control in a collaborative environment.
- Participate in code reviews, demonstrating good coding practices, and maintaining code quality.
