Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineering and Solution Engineering Leader for a critical Care + Program. This role involves working on one of the largest Care + Technology initiatives aimed at revolutionizing Behavioral Health Services in the United States. The focus is on enhancing market-winning capabilities in the Behavioral Health space. The Technology strategy is fully aligned with our business strategy, allowing the candidate to influence both technology and business directions. This individual will also recruit and mentor employees or vendor resources to build and contribute to a world-class Delivery Vertical. This position offers visibility to the highest levels of management, who are committed to the success of our efforts. The solution leverages the latest technologies and development techniques, including Open Source Integration Frameworks, E Business Process Management, Oracle High Availability Database Platforms, Agile, Continuous Integration, Behavior/Test Driven Development, AWS, Docker, and more.

  1. Technical Savvy: Ability to be conversant in multiple technologies without necessarily having to code in any of them. This person will help define solutions but won t be asked to build anything.
  2. Enterprise Design: Ability to conceive solutions that span multiple areas, each with its own roadmaps, architectures, priorities, and terminology.
  3. Collaboration: Ability to work with an immediate small team that connects with numerous other small teams, totaling dozens if not 100+ individuals at times. Requires solid communication skills and patience to drive people to agreement and consensus.

  • Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven real-time streaming architectures.

  • Strong negotiating skills to facilitate trade-offs between budget, cost, risk, scope, and quality.

Daily Activities:

  1. Provide leadership, vision, engineering, and architectural/design direction for the team.
  2. Direct the team in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  3. Ensure engineering solutions align with the Technology strategy and support the application s requirements.
  4. Plan and implement procedures to maximize engineering and operating efficiency for application integration technologies.
  5. Identify and drive process improvement opportunities.
  6. Maintain complete accountability for the technology assets owned by the team.
  7. Provide leadership to the team, ensuring they meet objectives in design, configuration, implementation of middleware products, and application design/development within supported technologies and products.
  8. Design proactive monitoring and management of supported assets to assure performance, availability, security, and capacity.
  9. Maximize the efficiency (operational, performance, and cost) of the application assets.

Skills:

  1. Proven experience leading/managing technical teams with a passion for developing team talent. Experience with vendor management in an onshore/offshore model.
  2. Familiarity with technologies and patterns such as Java, Oracle, Python, Hadoop, Angular, RESTful Services, Eventing, and Batch.
  3. Familiarity with agile methodology, including SCRUM team leadership.
  4. Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test-driven development, and specification by example.
  5. Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  7. Strong influencing/negotiation skills.
  8. Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
  9. Strong time and project management skills.
  10. Proficiency with tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Draw.IO, UML, Sequence diagrams, and architecture diagrams.
