We are seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist specializing in high-performance and racing engines. This role focuses on hands-on machining tasks without relying on CNC systems. Ideal candidates are experienced in engine rebuilding, precision measurement, and blueprint reading.
Key Requirements:
- Experience:
- 5+ years working with high-performance or racing engines.
- Extensive experience in engine rebuilding, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engine components (crankshaft, camshaft, valves, pistons).
- Skilled in cylinder head & block machining (boring, honing, surfacing, seat/guide replacement).
- Proficiency in precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
- Strong understanding of engine blueprinting and balancing for performance engines.
- Strong attention to detail for precise tolerances and high-quality work.
- Effective communication and teamwork with engineers, tuners, and team members.
- Adaptable to evolving automotive technologies and techniques.
- Education: Vocational/Technical training or Associate Degree in Automotive Machining, Precision Machining, or related field.
- Familiarity with high-end automotive brands such as BMW, Porsche, Audi, or Mercedes.
- Involvement in personal or professional racing and performance projects.
- Ability to work with precision tools and equipment like balancing machines.
