Job Description
As a Product Engineer, you will work closely with sales and internal departments to answer technical questions regarding our product offerings including fasteners, measuring tools, and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) categories. Your primary responsibilities will fall into two key areas:
Technical Support
- Provide customers with fast and efficient email, phone or video call support for all technical inquiries such as dimensions, mounting sizes, materials, tolerances, engineering calculations, CAD models, etc.
- Find and suggest appropriate alternatives/replacements utilizing the existing product lines or partner suppliers.
- Interface with customers and suppliers to support product inspection and investigation to ensure the root cause of product defects, malfunctions or any technical errors.
- Collaborate with Misumi s global headquarters or group companies to assist technical inquiries or product inspections for cross-border sourced products.
- Review and modify product pages on company's E-commerce platform with reference to manufacturers product data sheets and catalogs to convey correct, sufficient, and user-friendly product information.
- Consult, educate, and support Misumi s employees with technical expertise for creating new product pages on the E-commerce platform, product training for new and existing staff, etc.
Business Development Support
- Assist the sales department in cross-over individual part numbers of the requested BOM lists.
- Collect product information and quotes from suppliers quickly to distribute new products to customers to enable Sales representatives to obtain opportunities.
- Participate in tradeshows and exhibitions to explain, promote, and propose product lines with technical expertise and advice.
- Accompany sales representatives on customer site visits for on-site training, technical support, or lunch and learn.
- Assist product managers in conceiving and executing brand-new services to expand the competitiveness of business.
- Lead/support the development of marketing collaterals, including blogs, brochures, and Google search keyword terms.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 4+ years of experience in Engineering or Technical Sales with expertise in fasteners and measuring tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- General computer skills such as webpage development using internally developed software, web-based research, and the ability to be innovative when solving problems.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD, Microsoft Office, CRM Software
- Motivated, driven, responsible, possess leadership, and results oriented.
- Experience working in an international environment preferred.
