SAIC is looking to grow our team of IT experts with a senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) engineer while delivering high quality IT services to our customers on NITES. We are seeking highly qualified and experienced individuals with a passion to learn and dedication to providing reliable services in support of the NORAD and NORTHCOM mission. You will need to be self-motivated, creative and be able to work autonomously and within a team in an on-site environment. Daily duties will include operating and maintaining a robust network of virtual machines and the servers that host them to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.

Qualifications:
- SECRET with TS/SCI eligibility
- Bachelors with 9 years experience, or additional experience in lieu of a degree
- 5+ years of experience in VDI design, implementation, and administration
- 5+ years of experience with VMware Horizon 6 and 7
- Troubleshoot and resolve VDI-related issues, providing technical support and guidance to end-users
- Experience managing and optimizing VDI environments to ensure high availability and performance
- T he ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop VDI strategies that align with business needs
- Monitor VDI performance metrics and implement enhancements as needed
- Create and maintain documentation for VDI architecture, processes, and procedures
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to VDI technologies
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies with VMware vSphere ESXi 6.x or higher, vSAN, and networking with hardware and distributed switches
- Proficiency in managing Windows servers and active directory in an enterprise environment
- E xperience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for VDI management
- Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ce or equivalent)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- VMware Certified Professional or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
- Prior experience with DoD environments
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
