Government Retirement & Benefits, Inc. (GRB) is an industry leader in Federal Human Resources cloud applications offered via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. GRB is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day maintenance of IT systems and respond to technical issues. The preferred candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational skills and adeptness at multitasking in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities
- Technical support - Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve requests
- Network management - Analyze, test, and maintain networks, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud networks
- Security and privacy - Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems, including data protection and encryption. Support security efforts including security audits, and assessments
- Software and hardware - Install and configure software and hardware components including upgrades, and enhancements. Perform monitoring and diagnostic.
- Database administration - Perform database administration and management. Assist in facilitating data exchange between GRB and customers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data integrity
- System maintenance - Perform system maintenance, including data backup and system security operations. Aid in license and configuration management tasks
- Documentation - Update technical documentation to reflect changes in system configurations and settings
- Research - Research and implement technological solutions to ensure sufficient systems capacity for organizational needs
Education and Required Experience
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Professional Certification (eg. CCNP, MCSE) is desirable
- 3+ years of IT Specialist experience
Qualifications
- Eagerness to offer functional support for various IT systems and applications, with a focus on learning and growth
- Knowledge of fundamental cybersecurity measures and willingness to learn and implement security best practices
- Strong aptitude for providing technical assistance and support to end-users
- Basic knowledge of hosting environments and cloud services, with a willingness to learn and collaborate with hosting providers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
