Specialist, Product Applications Engineering, CoverMyMeds Dispensing Network
Work location: Irving, TX / Louisville, KY
Position Description:
The Specialist, Product Applications Engineering position for the CMM Dispensing Network team will be responsible for the comprehensive day-to-day support of a new suite of applications for McKesson's pharmacy business. Applications consist of a mix of vendor-supported applications, both cloud-based and on-prem (e.g., Inovalon ScriptMed Cloud, MuleSoft API integration, Snowflake data warehouse, custom-developed containerized applications, etc.). In addition, the Specialist, Product Applications Engineering role will be responsible for operating within a larger team that is responsible for IT Service Management and the delivery of solutions in the most effective and efficient manner possible for this suite of applications, including ensuring compliance with all security and architectural mandates such as MFA, SOX, HIPAA, etc. This individual will consult with other teams such as ISRM architecture, Information Security & Risk Management, Risk and Controls Group, and other application team leaders to support overall Information Security policies and compliance.

Position Description:

Areas of Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance that supports the implementation and maintenance of business systems.
- Implement necessary monitoring and perform maintenance to ensure desired application availability.
- Coordinate software deployments in adherence with processes and procedures for quality software delivery.
- Mentor a diverse team that is responsible for the operational support of all in scope computing platforms.
- Develop and implement ScriptMed Cloud workflow functionality configuration enhancements.
- Develop and implement job automation functionality and enhancements.
- Administer and monitor all ServiceNow tickets, ticket SLA adherence, dashboard development and support, monthly performance metrics reporting, etc.
- Administer production support incident notification process and adherence to corporate incident notification and tracking processes.
- Administer change control procedures to ensure that only properly reviewed and authorized changes are released across computing environments (e.g., corporate CAB process adherence, etc.), including oversight of computing environment maintenance windows, deployment readiness checkpoints, deployment validation and signoff, deployment notifications, application shakeouts, etc.
- Provide governance and compliance leadership. Work with internal and external auditors to provide requested evidence in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Critical Skills:
- 4+ years overall IT experience
- Experience coordinating with development teams and Product Owners.
- Experience with Excel to analyze data and maintain reference information.
- Basic understanding of flat files / text files and XML.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, SFTP file transfer, APIs.
- Experience working in a software application production support role. Ability to diagnose issues, perform root cause analysis, etc.
- Exposure to application development concepts
- Experience managing and interacting with vendor support groups and corporate user stakeholders.
- Experience leading the delivery of functionality and services on time, within budget while still meeting business needs.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical information on behalf of organizational stakeholders.
- Strong, proven critical thinking skills and ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems, driving solutions through to completion.
Advantageous Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience working with data (e.g., data analysis, reports, etc.). Should have an understanding of how data is stored and can be retrieved and combined.
- Experience working with databases, preferably SQL Server, writing stored procedures, writing complex queries for data, understanding of principles of relational database design (foreign Keys, indexes, etc.).
- Basic networking knowledge and ability to perform basic network troubleshooting.
- General experience with Azure.
- Basic server configuration knowledge, OS patching, etc.
- Demonstrated experience as a self-starter, motivated, with an ability to self-manage.
- Strong facilitation skills and a clear ability to build strong relationships with business partners.
- Strong team leadership, results driven, and able to collaborate with colleagues to share the responsibilities for achieving an end-to-end solution for customers.
- Strong attention to detail which ensures that customer requirements are met and that a high-quality standard is achieved.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management governance (e.g., SSO, MFA), compliance, and operational support experience.
- Go Anywhere job automation experience.
- MuleSoft experience.
- Software development experience a plus (e.g., Python).
- Microsoft certifications.
- Experience in a software and release management role:
- Experience with software deployment on Windows platforms
- Experience managing release packages
- Oversight of deployment activity
- CAB meetings / change request process
- Preparing for deployments
- Running production deployment and application shakeout calls
