AWS Cloud Architect

The AWS Cloud Architect will support cloud-based and on-premise systems and perform monitoring, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. They will also assist the Service Desk in diagnosing and addressing technical system and user issues across multiple information systems. Responsibilities are as follows:
Support system deployments to multiple environments (Stage, Training, Production, and more)
Capture artifacts to support security reviews and Authorization to Operate (ATO) assessments
Assist in Active Directory domain management, including analyzing, troubleshooting, and implementing Group Policies, OU structures, and domain server upgrades.
Build and maintain accessible, performant, reusable, and reliable JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
Engineer new user interfaces as needed to work with our back-end Python application in support of customers evolving needs
Translate requirements into technical designs and well-engineered code backed by automated tests
Leverage your knowledge of web-based tools and infrastructure to improve our core technology
Prototype new features and applications
Perform updates of Windows and Linux environments
Perform basic operating system security hardening
Perform troubleshooting for system issues, deployment issues, end user issues, including log analysis
Perform daily reviews or inspections of system backups, AWS CloudWatch Alerts, Elasticsearch Observability, and system accessibility
Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other process documentation
Implement CloudFormation and script automation and configuration management to streamline operational processes.
Monitor and optimize costs within the cloud environments, including service tiers and management usage to stay within budget
Collaborate with other teams to implement appropriate cloud solutions and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the cloud infrastructure including diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or similar field (Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
2 years experience managing AWS infrastructure
2+ years of professional experience building web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Jinja templating
2+ years UI/UX design
Experience using a major JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Vue, etc)
Experience with Bootstrap framework
Ajax experience
Experience with accessibility / 508 compliance
2+ years of Experience with git/Github/GitLab and CI/CD tools
Strong analytical thinker with experience in best practices and design patterns
Understanding of internet fundamentals from networks protocols to queuing to load balancing
Ability to communicate technical requirements, both verbal and written
Bachelor s or higher degree, or the equivalent, in Computer Science or related field.
Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory domains
Experience with AWS mainstream cloud service offerings
AWS Cloud Practitioner or another relevant AWS certification
Experience with a microservices architecture and tools
Experience gathering artifacts to support ATO assessments
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with Elasticsearch and AWS OpenSearch
Windows or Linux operating system certifications
Strong understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, VPN, DHCP, TLS, IP subnetting and routing.
Knowledge of OpenGL/WebGL
Experience with user authorization and authentication
Familiarity with build tools (webpack, gulp, grunt, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to automate infrastructure tasks such as infrastructure as code
Experience with AWS Firewall management
Demonstrated experience supporting FISMA authorizations
Compensation Range
$105k - $145k Annually based on education, certifications, experience and qualifications.
