Our client has an immediate need for a Senior IT Project Manager, who is responsible for managing multiple large projects related to information systems as well as managing and prioritizing the project stream, working with stakeholders to determine project definition and business requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree
- 5-8 years of relevant IT project management experience
- Must demonstrate strong leadership and negotiation skills with the ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the work of other matrixed team members
- Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Must be comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environments.
- Financial systems (Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP, etc) experience is a plus
- Experience managing projects with system integrations and data migrations is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Manages definition and delivery of large or complex programs or projects within scope and budget levels
- Creates a detailed project plan and resource management plan that identifies and sequences the activities and resources needed to successfully complete the project within scope, schedule and budget
- Completes risk management plan and risk register to identify issues and risks that need escalation and resolution
- Assigns and logs action items and follows up to ensure timely closure
- Coordinates the delivery of IT solution components aligned to the project scope
- Performs project closeout tasks, documents lessons learned, and organizes and stores all project documentation in alignment with the IT PMO process
- Works with the project sponsor, PMO, and appropriate stakeholders to define the scope and business requirements of approved projects to support organizational goals and objectives
- Ensures appropriate change management activities, test plans, and training plans are developed early in the process to ensure business readiness and successful on-time delivery of assigned projects
- Tracks and prepares standard monthly financial reports including future forecasts and explanations for budget variances
