Manufacturing Processes: High mix, low volume tight tolerance Machining (CNC and Conventional, Fabrication, Welding (manual mig and tig), and Assembly. We produce Industrial Equipment for high-volume food processing customers. Primary materials include Steel (stainless and high strength), aluminum, and castings.
Facility: 150k sq. ft. in facilities and 130k sq. ft. outside storage. Two shift operation (M-TH 4d x 10hr). Approximately 115 employees.

Hiring Range: $100k+ (depends on experience), plus performance-based bonus

Reports to: Director of Operations
Direct Personnel: 2 Quality Technicians.
Essential Duties
- Design, implementation, and sustainment of Quality Management System.
- Personnel management to include hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Develop/maintain process verification and validation protocols. Ensure equipment and processes are validated, qualified, and calibrated.
- Devise and establish quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Review customer requirements. Ensure manufacturing has appropriate documentation, training, and support to meet customer s quality requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the purchasing team to establish a robust and comprehensive Supplier Quality Program (assessment, audit, scoring, CAPA, etc.). Provide ongoing resources and management support.
- Develop and monitor ongoing Quality performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
- Create and sustain a quality culture ensuring it is part of every person s job.
- Initiate, recommend, and implement changes to improve quality system compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness; eliminate defects, reduce costs, and cycle times.
- Ensure quality activities are reflected in documentation; train in-process inspectors and provide clear inspection instructions and standards of work to drive improvements in the quality of products.
- Develop and implement an effective CAPA program (Corrective Action / Preventative Action). Ensure the system is utilized and effective actions are verified and implemented.
- Develop, communicate, and implement effective product containment programs to ensure appropriate control of quality.
- Support efforts to efficiently and successfully transfer projects/products into manufacturing (e.g., New Product Development); includes, interacting with Design and Development and/or customers to clearly understand product and in-process inspection requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to core teams on new or changing Quality regulations, standards, and requirements.
- Develop and manage the document control system to ensure ease of access and effective change control.
- Assist in the development and management of robust training and a competency management program.
- Provide Quality leadership and oversight, and make personal contributions as a team member on manufacturing and development teams, throughout the entire product life-cycle.
- Drive Continuous Improvement within the department.
- Oversee and ensure the effectiveness of a comprehensive quality system audit program.
- Lead the team in improving the cost of poor Quality and eventually total cost of Quality.
- Develop Quality KPIs and score card as well as lead management review process, to include reporting for all key Quality System metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience (Operations, Quality, or Engineering degree preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar management role within a manufacturing facility. Experience with our manufacturing processes and materials highly-desired.
- Experience implementing and sustaining an effective Quality Management system in a manufacturing facility (ISO 9001)
- Knowledge of experimental design, statistics, and statistical software such as Minitab.
- In-depth knowledge of risk analysis tools consistent with ISO.
- Experience in process validations, verifications, and associated statistics.
- Experience in Risk Analysis/Management and methods (e.g., Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and PPAP).
- Experience in Corrective and Preventive Action and Non-conforming Material processes.
- Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as flowcharts, Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and root cause analysis methods.
- ASQ and auditor certification desired.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing systems and knowledge of key tools desired.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead large-scale change management initiatives.
- Proven ability to effectively participate in and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong, hands-on leadership and management skills.
- Well-organized and detailed oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems.
- Current valid Driver's License.
