Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Software Core team is hiring for a skilled Release Manager to contribute to the successful release management of a large portfolio of IBM products. With approximately 60 services delivering on our common platform, we are searching for someone to:
- Create and execute new release management processes to facilitate flexible release timelines for our software platform and the dozens of products that deliver on it
- Develop new release management tooling to ensure accuracy and full coverage of release requirements while reducing time to completion and cost of delivery
- Contribute innovative suggestions for process improvement and automation
- Create and execute release management plans including schedules and deliverable requirements based on the software category (for example, platform component or full product)
- Work closely with our IBM software development teams and IBM Business Partners to achieve successful completion of all of IBM's Go-To-Market (GTM) deliverables
- Serve as a credible and trusted advisor to stakeholders
- Effectively mitigate release risks as they arise
- Cultivate teamwork and problem-solving while working under challenging delivery expectations and deadlines
- Provide leadership, mentoring, motivation to more junior team members
Ensure project completion on time and budget
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 10+ Years of release management experience
- A proven track record of release management using agile best practices to successfully deliver products on aggressive schedules
- Comprehensive understanding of the entire software development lifecycle and GTM requirements
- Demonstrable success in communication and personal relationship development at all levels - from engineers to execs - with experience navigating across all pillars of the business: Development, Support, Security, Legal, Finance
- Strong collaboration skills as you work across the partner and IBM team
- Experience working with a broad spectrum of technology solutions
- Expertise at working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment
- Enthusia sm for learning new technologies and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Exceptional knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, asynchronous architectures, and object-oriented programming
- Experience with popular AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform services for compute, storage, and databases etc.
- Experience developing Single Page Web Applications and frameworks like React or equivalent.
- Experience developing JS, CSS, HTML sites.
- Professional experience building REST APIs
