Job Duties

• Design and develop analog and digital circuits to meet project requirements, including system power supply design.
• Create digital designs for signal processing and microcontroller-based products.
• Develop FPGA-based systems (Xilinx, Lattice preferred) and microprocessor-based designs (STM32 and PIC preferred).
• Capture mixed-signal board schematics and perform layout for systems operating up to 500Mhz.
• Build and support custom test stations and characterize electronic systems and components.
• Collaborate with optical, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure project success and adherence to design specifications.
• Present design trade-offs, conduct make-or-buy analyses, and evaluate cost-benefit decisions aligned with budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 4+ years of experience.
• Proven experience in original circuit design, analysis, and testing.
• Expertise in multi-layer PCB design (up to 10 layers) with proficiency in LVDS, length tuning, impedance matching, and high-density interconnects.
• Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, and more.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB design tools.
• Firmware and software development skills are an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Proficiency in Altium Designer, Python, and LTSpice.
• Skilled in prototyping, including getting boards fabricated and assembled in quantities ranging from small-scale to large production runs.
• Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines, including high-speed analog amplification for optical and RF receivers, system-level power design, and analog-to-digital conversion.
• Capability to manage complex design processes from ambiguous requirements to final product, performing critical trade-off analyses and evaluations.
• Strong skills in documentation, specification review, test plan development, and execution.

Security Clearance:

• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance.

Compensation Details

$100,000 - $140,000
