SUMMARY
The Test Engineer supports the planning, execution, delivery of SIE software development projects and programs in support of the software solutions team. Through the delivery of SIE products and solutions, facilitate the growth of existing and generate new SIE business in alignment with company performance and growth objectives. Collaborate with team members and support exceeding customer expectations and over-deliver on company goals. The ideal candidate has 5 to 8 years of experience in automated end-to-end software testing using Cypress, Selenium, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and product managers to understand requirements, gather specifications and align on project goals.
- Participate in planning sessions to define test requirements and ensure test coverage meets software functionality specifications.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and testing criteria that align with software development objectives and project timelines.
- Design and implement both manual and automated testing strategies to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Execute test cases and record results, logging defects and issues for resolution.
- Identify, analyze, and document any defects or issues in the software, collaborating with the development team to facilitate timely resolution.
- Conduct performance and load testing to evaluate software scalability, responsiveness, and stability under varying conditions.
- Report on project progress and identify any potential risks or roadblocks project delivery timelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient with automated end-to-end software testing (Cypress, Selenium, etc.)
- Proficient with software load testing (JMeter, k6.io)
- Proficient with setting up and maintaining CI/CD workflows to support automated testing throughout development (GitLab Runners)
- Advanced level knowledge of software development processes including Agile methodologies
- Conversant with object-oriented programming languages
- Conversant with object-oriented programming languages
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or equivalent with demonstrated experience in technical experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Remote / Hybrid work environment. In-person collaboration is required to support engagement with the team. In addition to in-office days, employees have the flexibility to telework (with supervisor approval) on designated days or as needed, provided they adhere to established communication protocols and fulfill their work responsibilities effectively. Additionally, travel may be required to customer and subcontractor sites as well as other office locations.
