Integrated Technology is an engineering company in Rochester, MN specializing in electrical, mechanical, and control system engineering. We provide a wide range of engineering and technical services including electrical design, mechanical design, systems integration, industrial automation, and PLC and HMI programming. We work on a large variety of projects for our diverse client base, and have an engaged, hands-on approach to projects. We are searching for an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer to join our team. The individual should be energetic, independent, self-motivated, action-driven, and client focused. As a company we are committed to working with our clients to solve problems as well as educating them and providing quality technical services. The individual applicant should share the same goal and objectives.
Flexibility, adaptability, collaboration, independence, and interpersonal skills are required for this position. The applicant will need to be able to grasp new concepts and projects quickly, work independently, and have good time-management skills as well as be willing and able to develop and learn new skills and software programs. The applicant should have strong basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including cloud-based applications such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibly of this position is to perform electrical design tasks for industrial and municipal electrical and control systems. This can include:
- Reviewing, evaluating and selecting electrical system components such as panelboards, switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, lighting, and other similar components.
- Evaluating and determining electrical system configuration.
- Reviewing, evaluating, and selecting instrumentation and control system components such as instrumentation, sensors, control devices, and other similar components.
- Evaluating and selecting instrumentation and control system configuration.
- Development of schematic, layout, and plan drawings for electrical and instrumentation and control systems.
- Development of specifications for electrical and instrumentation and control systems.
The applicant should have knowledge, experience, and be able to utilize AutoCAD in the creation of electrical drawings such as one-lines, schematics, and plan layouts. Applicant should have previous experience working with or designing industrial electrical systems. The applicant should have experience and a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and be able to interpret, understand, and apply codes and standards.
Other Responsibilities
Other responsibilities that the applicant may be involved in include, but may not necessarily be limited to:
- Performing engineering analysis of new or existing electrical systems.
- Designing and building industrial control panels including drafting, schematic design, component selection, panel layout, and panel build/wiring.
- Instrumentation and Sensors: component selection, calibration and configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting.
- AutoCAD support for control panel design and other engineering projects.
- Serve as a technical resource to clients, employees, and other engineering disciplines.
Education
The position requires an Associates or Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronics, Industrial Controls, Electrician or other similar degree.
Candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a university or college accredited by ABET and having completed the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) exam are preferred. Being licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) is desired, but not required.
